MG Lawrence Brock III, USAR (ret.)

Major General Lawrence W. Brock III assumed command of the 311th Signal Command (Theater) on May 28, 2014. His command covers all facets of Army communications within the Pacific Region, comprised of the 1st and 516th Signal Brigades, while also serving as the USARPAC Deputy Chief of Staff, G-6. He most recently served as Commander of the 335th Signal Command (Theater), East Point, Georgia, where he was responsible for executing the command’s dual mission: providing critical chemical, communications and information services in support of forces in Southwest Asia as well as Homeland Defense operations as directed by the U.S. Army Reserve Command.

During his 34 years of service, Major General Brock served in a number of diverse Signal assignments: from company, battalion and brigade command to Commanding General of the 359th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, 335th Signal Command Forward (Kuwait), 335th Signal Command (East Point, Georgia), to his current command. In addition, MG Brock served overseas as the Director of Communications CJ6, Headquarters, Combined Forces Command-Afghanistan, and Director of Signal Integration, ACSE-A, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and ARCENT Deputy Chief of Staff, G-6. Major General Brock is a graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, with a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Administration. His military education includes completion of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army War College, and National Defense University.

His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (one oak leaf cluster), Meritorious Service Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters).

Major General Brock is married with two children and one grandchild.
